Technorati says Japan posts more than any other country. According to Technorati’s State of the Blogoshpere as reported by Sifry’s Alerts, Japan was responsible for 37% of the posts to blogs. Why is that? I believe, in one word: Mixi. The equivalent to MySpace. You have to understand how infectious chatting is for Japanese young girls. The only way you can join Mixi is by being invited.

I’m not sure if Mixi is as crazy as it was last year but I’m sure it is one of the major reasons why Technorati got those results. I wonder if my space was tracked the same way in America. Considering the population difference I would think the results would be different.

Asses Camping in JapanA 3′ X 6′ (foot) sign I saw in front of a store advertising super asses on a website in a camping supply store here in Kobe, Japan. Here’s the link http://super.asses.jcom.to

Could it be that jcom (the biggest cable company in Japan) has purchased a .to domain name and thought it would be a good marketing move to promote a line of camping gear or clothing that makes your ass look good while hiking? I’m all for it!! I couldn’t find ANYTHING in the store that looked close to what they were advertising. OH WAIT! no. just a bra.

global_peace_index.jpgJapan is currently ranked 5 out of 120 countries listed in the most peaceful countries of the world. The results can be seen here. And you wonder why I want to live here. Oh, America, land of the free, is ranked 96!

If this were a video game like Civilization IV, I would seriously consider changing civics.

What are the best movies from Japan? Below is a list created from Amazon users can vote on. The links will take you to Amazon where you can purchase the movies. I’m including this and a few more pages on the left sidebar. Hope it helps you as much as it has helped me. I didn’t have a clue about Japanese movies until I started this web site. Here’s a post in the forum with a ton of movies I had never heard about.

UPDATE: It was pointed out that some of the movies aren’t Japanese. That’s pretty stupid isn’t it. I wouldn’t know since I don’t watch Japanese movies, so we’ll have to make our own list here pretty soon. Feel free to post your favorites in the comments or on the forum or anywhere else for that matter.

Play this, get up and start marching around. It’s addictive.

Disney's Electric Light ParadeI was born just a block away from Disneyland and then moved to Anaheim Hills when I was like two. My mom met Walt Disney in line for the Teacups (her claim to fame along with meeting Lucille Ball). I used to work at the Disneyland Hotel (better pay) while my girlfriend worked as a tour guide in the park (she looked so good in her uniform). We used to go dancing at at at…I forgot the name Techaopolis or something. It’s Toontown now.

But my all time favorite thing was the Electric Light Parade. And when this music started my heart would start pounding and my feet started stompin’. I just wanted to be sure to put this piece of history on my site for EVERYONE to enjoy.

PS: You can see more on this very cool site where I got the song.

If you’ve been reading over at the forum you’ll have noticed that I’m not really into Japanese films. We don’t get the English subtitles over here being the main reason. BUT, I did find a very good site that deals with Japanese movies for those who have expressed such an interest in them. Enjoy.
