Gaijin-in-JapanBlogging direct from Kobe, Japan
Gaijin isn't a bad word. There just isn't any
other word to describe us. And besides, I'm different and I like it that way. Why else would I decide to leave San Francisco and live here forever? So that I can eat good food? Maybe. |

Alcohol is a way of life here. Company men regularly go out drinking with coworkers after work for a time when they can talk freely about issues at work. They are almost excused for acting irresponsibly at this time. That’s why you hear drunken stories of falling asleep on the train or throwing up on the platform. As for me. I’ve cleaned up my act. The days of wine and women have ended. It’s a clear road to the nursing home from here on out. I just hope they don’t lock the liquor cabinet after 2:00AM. I might be tempted to do a runner in my skivvies….woo hooooo

My plan is to do enough damage now to ensure I don’t make it to the nursing home. Have fun with meds and shuffle board.
