Gaijin-in-JapanBlogging direct from Kobe, Japan
Gaijin isn't a bad word. There just isn't any
other word to describe us. And besides, I'm different and I like it that way. Why else would I decide to leave San Francisco and live here forever? So that I can eat good food? Maybe. |

I am wholier than thou–says the man drinking from a can of happoshu while watching bowlers and snacking on Mike popcorn (gotta be here to understand). I went to Okayama today to do a wedding. I survived and am here to tell you about it. News Weather Food and Drink Music by the Yoshida Brothers — Storm (my favorite—and with permission from Domo Music ;-))

If you keep up with th Wedding gig, you might be able to quit your day job soon.

Used to be that way, not anymore. Most priests are only making between 15 and 30 thousand a day on the weekends only. Some are out there making 500,000 yen salaries in some months but not on a consistent basis making it hard to quit your day job. You end up just working seven days a week and learning to take time off whenever you can. Helps you save money that way. You must be logged in to post a comment. |
