No big deal here but I thought I would just keep up with the cell phone posts. I think I have written a few posts in the past describing my cell phone, or ketai as they are called here.
My wife and I have a family plan at Docomo which runs us around $40 (4,500 yen) each a month. The phones were free at first and then every year or two we get a discount on exchanging our phone for a new one. This time we waited two years. We got this phone for about $27 (2,900 yen).
I refuse to buy any other type of phone because I like the Star Trek button that pops the shell open when you press it. The idea of having to slide your thumbnail along the side to open it with one hand is just too much work 
As for features, well, nothing to write home about. Here is a photo to see the quality of the camera. See the specs on the (read more page).
This one doesn’t have a light and it also uses a micro SD card which means I have to buy a new card (2GB for about $50). I don’t know what the video looks like yet. Overall, nothing has really changed; just a new phone. Oh, it does have facial recognition for use with the IC card system; means I can buy drinks at a vending machine or convenience store with a wave of my phone. hehe.
