I haven’t taught now for three months. My social life is ruined. No more beers at the vending machine after work, no more bantering with the boys, no more izakayas, no more karaoke, no more tequila (I can do without). It’s just that now that I’m doing what I’ve wanted to do for 15 years, work at home, doesn’t play the same as if I were living in the states. In the states I could still see my friends. Of course, they’d be working until a reasonable hour whereas here 9:00 is the norm. Does this mean I’m going to have to find new friends? How do you do that in Japan?

ha ha. Me, alcohol and work do not mix. I’d just become more of an alcoholic than I already am. You must be logged in to post a comment. |
