Living in Japan has been one of my greatest pleasures in life. Yes, it is difficult when the national anthem of Japan is playing and my son is singing it, but I’ll easily give that up for the safety and security I have found here. There isn’t another place I can go where I can always count on making at least $3,000 a month and only have to work 26-30 hours a week. Coming over as a JET to teach for only one year sounds tough to me. It takes at least three months to get your bearings, three months to make some friends and three months to find out what Japan is about. The last three months you would then spend organizing for your trip home. Most everyone I know has stayed here for at least 5 years.
The photo on the left is of from Ioka (see video). My wife and I are going there tomorrow night for our 6th wedding anniversary. On the top is Oden and to the left is a salty raw meat (I forgot the name) and to the right is shochu. You must be logged in to post a comment. |
