Hot Summer Fun

P1000180.JPGI’m not quite sure why Japanese think it is good to go to a hot spring in the summer. I can understand eating spicey food so that the blood circulation is better but we usually eat in a cool restaurant or with a cold drink. Soaking in a hot tub in the summer just isn’t my idea of fun.

Down the street from our apartment is a foot soaking “onsen.” I don’t know what you call them. This one costs 5 yen (4 cents) and you can put your feet in the water as long as would like to. There are a couple benches on either side of the trench to the left of the little house. The last time Tomoko went there they served cheese. Hmmmm. I don’t understand.
