Yahoo and Rakuten battling it out!

I’m sure, if you live in Japan, you have seen those Yahoo people standing on the corners trying to “give away” bags filled with ADSL boxes. This and Yahoo shopping popularity has made a big impact on sales here in Japan.

“Yahoo Japan Corp up 4.53 percent at 2.54 million yen, having risen as far as 2.63 million yen, its highest since July 2000.” - Forbes.com

Yahoo is also looking to expand to more than 3,000 shops this year.

“The company, which opened its mall four years ago, currently has about 450 shops that sell more than 1.4 million products, while its prime competitor Rakuten’s shops offer more than two million products.” - Media Daily News
